This guide will show you how to manage the comment bank for academic reports.
The comment bank can be used in academic reports to create a bank of common comments used in student reports. The comment bank can have school comments which are managed by a specific role and available for all staff, or personal comments managed by a specific user.

Detailed steps
1. Select academic reports then, select comment bank.
Create comment
Detailed steps
2. Select create.
3. Optionally select personal comment checkbox.
If selected, the comment will appear under 'Your personal comments' and be available in the comment bank when marking student reports. It will only be visible to the user who created it.
If not selected, the comment will appear under 'School comments' and be available in the comment bank when marking student reports. It will be visible to all users with relevant permissions.
4. Optionally select KLA.
If a selection is made here, the comments will apply only to the nominated KLA.
General option: Select this option and add comments that will automatically appear in the comment bank when staff are entering general comments in assessments for students.
5. Optionally select stage.
You can add multiple stages. If a selection is made here, the comments will apply only to the nominated stage/s.
6. Optionally select a tag.
A tag must be created first, refer to the tag section of this guide.
7. Enter the comment.
Optionally insert merge tags.
8. Select create.
9. Select OK.

Import
Simple import
Simple import is used when the import file contains a single column of comments only (no KLA/stages in the file).

2. Select simple from import.
3. Optionally select the personal comment checkbox.
4. Optionally select KLA.
If a selection is made here, the comments will apply only to the nominated KLA.
5. Optionally select a stage.
You can add multiple stages. If a selection is made here, the comments will apply only to the nominated stage/s.
6. Optionally add a tag.
7. Select browse.
Search for and select the CSV file containing the comments.
8. Select import.
9. Select OK.
Complex import
Complex import is used when the import file contains comments with associated KLA and stages.

2. Select complex from import.
3. Optionally select 'click here' hyperlink.
This will download a template with the correct format for uploading.
4. Optionally select the personal comment checkbox.
5. Select browse.
Search for and select the CSV file containing the comments.
6. Select upload.
7. Select OK.
Edit a school or personal comment

2. Search for the comment.
3. Select edit.
4. Edit the details as needed.
5. Select save.
6. Select OK.
Option - Bulk update KLA/Stage/Tag

2. Select all.
Optionally select individual checkboxes.
3. Select update KLA/Stage/Tags from with selected.
4. Select update items.
5. Select replacements items for each update.
6. Select save.

3. Select the cross or tick to include/exclude default comment bank options.

Use the filtering options or search box.
3. Select the select all checkbox or select the individual comments.
4. Choose export to Excel from with selected.
The file will download to your computer.
