Academic subjects
The academic subject columns allows you fill the grades for individual students. When marking a student you can add an overall grade which auto populates the outcomes or complete each outcome individually. There are options to view and edit an existing marking, with the ability to reset student data.
Note - You will need to complete all sections of this guide to progress the status of the report.

Outcomes
Detailed steps
Auto mark allows you to apply a common outcome to all students in the class.

1. Select outcomes tab.
2. Select a grade outcome.
3. Optionally skip students with grades.
4. Select apply.
5. Select save.
6. Select OK.
Option - Apply grades manually to each student

1. Select the outcome header on the table.
2. Select a grade.
As the grade is selected it appears under the student's name.
Repeat steps 1 & 2 until grades for all students have been completed.
3. Optionally select outcome headers.
The overall results will display for each student, with an average grade appearing at the top of the marking scale column.
4. Select save.
5. Select OK.

1. Select additional grades tab.
2. Select a mark for each student.
An average mark will appear at the top of the marking scale column. This mark is dynamic and will change as grades are selected.
3. Select save.

Comments

1. Select the comments tab.
To add comments select an option from below.
Option 1 - apply comments in bulk

1. Click into the teacher's comment area and start typing comments.
2. Optionally select comment bank and/or merge field.
Option - Use comment bank
1. Select comment bank
Optionally hover over the tag icon for relevant tag information.
2. Optionally search by tag.
Tags need to be created before you can search by tag type, refer to guide: Comment Bank: Manage academic report comments
Use the tag comparison options to refine your tag search:
OR: the comment would have to be tagged with only one of the nominated tags in the search field
AND: the comment would have to be tagged with all nominated tags in the search field
3. Optionally use the comment search box.
Start typing a keyword, this field is dynamic and results will populate as entered.
4. Optionally select from the global category options.
Category options will only display if global comments have been set. To set global comments refer to guide: Comment bank: Configure global comment banks
5. Optionally select hide comments with no KLA and stage set option.
6. Optionally deselect from comment options.
7. Optionally update the KLA/stage filters.
The prefilled filters are based on the subject set up. When KLA/stages are set, the associated comments will display by default. These filters can be removed or changed to view other comments. For example: If a student is working above or below their stage.
To set KLA/stages refer to guide: Comment Bank: Manage academic report comments
8. Select the checkbox next to the required comment.
You can select multiple comments.
9. Optionally select clear selected.
10. Select from the comment options.
11. Select add selected.
Option - Find and replace
Find and replace allows you to search for specific text and replace it with new text across multiple student comment locations at once.
1. Optionally select individual students.
If no students are selected, the replacement text will be applied to all students.
2. Select find and replace.
3. Enter the text to find.
This is the text you want to replace.
4. Enter the replacement text.
5. Optionally select match case.
This will find and replace the text exactly as typed including uppercase and lowercase letters.
6. Select replace.
3. Review the comments and edit if needed.
4. Select save.
5. Select OK.
6. Select close.
Optionally select next subject.

Option 3 - apply comments with hard and/or soft character limits
If soft and/or hard character limits have been set (in the configuration area of Academic reports), the comments section will display as shown.
Character limit legend:
dotted line = soft character limit
solid line = hard character limit
1. Click into the comment area of the required student and start typing.
The character tracker will update and display coloured indicators as comments are entered, giving teachers a clear view of their progress.
2. Optionally select comment bank and/or merge field.
Repeat steps 1 & 2 for all students.
