The academic subject columns allow you to fill in the grades for individual students. When marking a student, you can add an overall grade that auto-populates the outcomes or complete each outcome individually. There are options to view and edit existing markings, with the ability to reset student data.

1. Select the primary grade.
2. Optionally select update overall grade and all outcomes.
3. Select update.
Individual outcomes - Select the required grade for each outcome.
You can select or deselect an outcome by clicking on the required box.
This will pre-populate an overall primary grade based on the average of the outcomes.
4. Select any other marking scales.
5. Enter a comment.
Option - Apply comments with hard and/or soft character limits
If soft and/or hard character limits have been set (in the configuration area of Academic reports), the comments section will display as shown.
Character limit legend:
dotted line = soft character limit
solid line = hard character limit
Click into the comment area and start typing.
The character tracker will update and display coloured indicators as comments are entered, giving teachers a clear view of their progress.
6. Optionally select comment bank and/or merge field.
Option - Use comment bank
1. Select comment bank
Optionally hover over the tag icon for relevant tag information.
2. Optionally search by tag.
Tags need to be created before you can search by tag type, refer to guide: Comment Bank: Manage academic report comments
Use the tag comparison options to refine your tag search:
OR: the comment would have to be tagged with only one of the nominated tags in the search field
AND: the comment would have to be tagged with all nominated tags in the search field
3. Optionally use the comment search box.
Start typing a keyword, this field is dynamic and results will populate as entered.
4. Optionally select from the global category options.
Category options will only display if global comments have been set. To set global comments refer to guide: Comment bank: Configure global comment banks
5. Optionally select hide comments with no KLA and stage set option.
6. Optionally deselect from comment options.
7. Optionally update the KLA/stage filters.
The prefilled filters are based on the subject set up. When KLA/stages are set, the associated comments will display by default. These filters can be removed or changed to view other comments. For example: If a student is working above or below their stage.

8. Select the checkbox next to the required comment.
You can select multiple comments.
9. Optionally select clear selected.
10. Select from the comment options.
11. Select add selected.
7. Review the comments and edit if needed.
8. Select save and close.
You can optionally select the next subject to progress to marking the next subject for the same student.
9. Select OK.

1. Select mark.
2. Clear the grade.
Clear the original primary grade by clicking on it.
3. Select clear overall grade and all outcomes, then select clear.
4. Edit the grade.
Select the required grade.
5. Select update overall grade and all outcomes.
6. Select update.

7. Enter or edit comments if needed.
8. Continue completing each student's academic subjects.
9. Select save and close.
10. Select OK.
Option - Reset student data

1. Select edit on the required student.
2. Select reset student.
3. Select yes.
This will reset all data entered for this student and return the subject to pending status.
4. Select OK.
5. Select close.
Option - Skip student
1. Select edit on the required student.
2. Select skip student.
3. Select OK.
The assessment will be skipped for the student.
