This guide will show you how to mark an EAL/D progression for an individual student.
Schools can use progressions to record student proficiency in the EAL/D learning progression.

Detailed steps
1. Select assessments then select progressions.
2. Optionally search for a student.
You can use the filtering options or search box.
Each progression cell is shaded in a different tone of green, indicating the current stage of progression for the student in the selected language mode.
3. Optionally hover over the progression cell.
This will provide the date and time the language mode was last updated.
4. Select the progression cell from the language mode column for the student.
5. Select the individual descriptor (dot point) to mark it as complete.
The descriptor will turn green to indicate it has been marked as complete.
6. Optionally select the heading to bulk mark all descriptors (in that section) as complete.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for each descriptor.
8. Optionally select show all descriptors.
This will display descriptors for all year levels.
9. Optionally select next to move to the next language mode.
10. Repeat steps 4-6 for each descriptor.
11. Select save.
12. Select OK.
13. Select close.
Option - add an overall progression
An overall progression is a summary statement that reflects a student's current level of progress.
The source of truth for overall progressions comes from ERN. School Bytes allows you to include this information in your progression records if needed.

2. Search for a student.
You can use the filtering options or search box.
3. Select the progression cell from the overall column for the student.
4. Select the heading/s to mark as complete.
The descriptor will turn green to indicate it has been marked as complete.
Note - you need to add an overall progression in order: Beginning, Emerging, Developing & Consolidating.
