This guide will show you how to mark an EAL/D progression in bulk.
Schools can use progressions to record student proficiency in the EAL/D learning progressions.
Progressions are recorded by using the mark functionality and moving students along the phases of the EAL/D progression in the various language modes.

1. Select assessments then select progressions.
2. Optionally search for a student.
You can use the filtering options or search box.
Each progression cell is shaded in a different tone of green, indicating the current stage of progression for the student in the selected language mode.
3. Select mark on the required language mode.
4. Optionally hover over the descriptor heading for details.
5. Select the cross to mark the descriptor as complete for the individual student.
6. Optionally select the descriptor heading to mark the descriptor as complete for all students.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for each descriptor.
8. Optionally select show all descriptors.
This will display descriptors for all year levels.
9. Select the next tab for the current language mode.
10. Repeat steps 4-6 for each descriptor.
11. Optionally select next to move to the next language mode.
Option - add an overall progression
You have the option to add an overall progression at the end of all language modes.
An overall progression is a summary statement that reflects a student's current level of progress.
The source of truth for overall progressions comes from ERN. School Bytes allows you to include this information in your progression records if needed.
Detailed steps
12. Select the table heading to mark as complete for all students.
The cells will turn green and the red cross will update to a green tick to indicate it has been marked as complete.
13. Select the next progression tab.
14. Repeat step 12 - 13 for each progression.
Note - you need to add an overall progression in order: Beginning, Emerging, Developing & consolidating.
