School Bytes two-way channel enables real-time messaging with your school. It allows you to exchange messages with staff via group or direct messages.
The chat is available on the parent portal and the parent app - making it easier than ever to stay connected.
Steps
1. Log into the parent portal.
2. Select the chat icon.
From the quick links panel.
Reply to a direct message
If you receive a direct message, a red notification will appear:
under direct message next to the person who sent the message

3. Select the name.
The chat screen will open and display the message with the date and time it was sent.
You may have the option to reply to the message.
4. Add your message details.
Optionally attach a file or add emojis.
5. Select send.
The message details will display with the date and time is was sent.
Reply to a group message
Note - not all group chats will have the option to reply.
If you receive a group message, a red notification will appear:
under channels next to the group message name

Send a direct message to your child's class teacher
The school needs to have this feature enabled.

3. Select new message.
Under the direct messages section.
4. Select the child the message relates to.
5. Select the teacher you wish to send the message to.
6. Add your message details.
Optionally select the paper clip icon to add a photo, video or file (max file size is 50mb).
7. Select send.
The message details will display with the date and time is was sent.
